MidSouthCon 28 is rapidly approaching, and SMT members will be turning out in force! Many of our members will be moderating panels, attending as guests, or working behind the scenes to ensure the convention is the most successful to date.

Kevin J. Anderson, a prolific writer whose work includes Star Wars comics, novels and short stories, is the Author Co-Guest of Honor. He shares the title with his wife, Rebecca Moesta, who wrote the Star Wars Junior Jedi Knights series.

SMT Honorary Members John Jackson Miller, Dean Zachary and Jim Hall will be returning as guests once again. Among their many panels, they will be on the Star Wars Comics panel, moderated by SMT President Nicki Howe.

SMT members among the guests include Rhonda Platania, Lin Workman, Tim Brown and Nicki Howe.

John Jackson Miller’s Knight Errant Coming Soon

Dark Horse announced yesterday that SMT Honorary Member and friend John Jackson Miller will be pulling double-duty in writing a new ongoing comics series and a novel called Knight Errant. The press release states that the comic and novel will be set 1,000 years prior to Episode I and will follow the exploits of a young female Jedi named Kerra Holt.

JJM posted to his blog that the comic is scheduled for release later this year, with the novel to follow in 2011.

JJM will be in Memphis for MidSouthCon 28 on March 12-14. Be sure to check out his panel at MSC for more information on his new project.
