SMT members will be attending and staffing the con again this year. Look for our fan table to stop by and say hello.

Our friend, John Jackson Miller, will once again be a guest. You can usually find John at the SMT fan table when he isn’t in a panel. You can find his con schedule here.  His next Star Wars novel, Kenobi, will be released later this year.

Star Wars author Christie Golden will also be a guest.  In addition to Star Wars, she has written novels for the Star Trek and World of Warcraft franchises.

For those of you who were with us in 2007 at Dan’s appearance at the Memphis Public Library, you’ll remember that Dan is a joy to talk to and really knows his Star Wars stuff.

The Library is looking for costumers to help escort Dan in and do some photo ops with him, so costuming is encouraged! Help us make Dan’s visit to the area a memorable one! Let us know if you can make it in costume. There will be space to change and time with Dan to talk Star Wars!

A Facebook event called “Wear Star Wars – Share Star Wars” was originally created to show support for Katie and to let her know that Star Wars is for girls, too. Her mom has asked that it be rebranded and that everyone who wears Star Wars apparel on December 10 also donate a Star Wars/sci-fi toy to a local hospital or shelter. She also asks that you specify that your gift should be given to a boy OR a girl, not just a boy.

Show your love of Star Wars and help a child this holiday season.

Kevin J. Anderson, a prolific writer whose work includes Star Wars comics, novels and short stories, is the Author Co-Guest of Honor.  He shares the title with his wife, Rebecca Moesta, who wrote the Star Wars Junior Jedi Knights series.

SMT Honorary Members John Jackson Miller, Dean Zachary and Jim Hall will be returning as guests once again.  Among their many panels, they will be on the Star Wars Comics panel, moderated by SMT President Nicki Howe.

JJM posted to his blog that the comic is scheduled for release later this year, with the novel to follow in 2011.
