Most of you have probably heard the story of Katie,a young girl who was picked on for liking Star Wars. Katie has received an outpouring of support on the internet,including LFL,Ashley Eckstein and others. The followup story can be read here.
A Facebook event called “Wear Star Wars –Share Star Wars”was originally created to show support for Katie and to let her know that Star Wars is for girls,too. Her mom has asked that it be rebranded and that everyone who wears Star Wars apparel on December 10 also donate a Star Wars/sci-fi toy to a local hospital or shelter. She also asks that you specify that your gift should be given to a boy OR a girl,not just a boy.
